Happy Hew Year 2021!

My 2021 word of the year is . . . STRONG!

In conclusion, be strong in the Lord (draw your strength from Him and be empowered through your union with Him) and in the power of His (boundless) might.
Ephesians 6:10

Courage

My 2019 word of the year is COURAGE, which goes right along with TRUST.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths.   ~Proverbs 3:5-6

Be strong and courageous!  Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.   ~Joshua 1:9

Perfect words for my year.  I realize it's now April, but I did choose COURAGE & TRUST at the beginning, I've just been too busy and too preoccupied to post them until today.  I feel I can nail them down now and stick with them for the year.

This is my year of change, which requires COURAGE from the Lord and TRUST in the Lord.  This year, our daughter graduates . . . this year, I retire from teaching (homeschooling our only daughter) . . . this year, I discovered my body isn't going to cooperate with my idea to go out and get a new career . . . so, this year also means learning and doing new things to keep my body going and it means a "wait" for the right opportunity in terms of a new career.

It's tough, I can't deny that.  God doesn't promise anything in this life will be easy, but He does promise that He will be with me through it and will allow exactly what is necessary for me.  I praise the Lord that He is in charge of me!  With His courage, I will go forward with complete trust in Him.

Choosing a Word of the Year

Last year I choose a "word of the year" for the first time and really found it helpful to focus on that one word . . . JOY.  Happiness relies on situations and circumstances, but JOY is a choice.  JOY is centered on Christ.  In Him, we always have reason to rejoice!

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything (and in every situation, no matter what the circumstances) give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
1 Thes. 5:16-18

Tomorrow, I'll announce my word for 2019!  Do you have one?  Choosing a "word" works much better than making resolutions!

Merry Christmas!

What a glorious birthday we celebrate today!  Do you know Jesus?  Today we celebrate His birth, nothing else.

Remember,  we don't need someTHING, we need someONE . . . That Someone is Jesus.

Merry Christmas!

Life isn't hopeless

Life is Never Hopeless

If we have Jesus as our Savior, and God's Word to turn to, we have hope!

Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy burdened, and I will give you rest.  Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me (following Me as My disciple) for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest (renewal, blessed quiet) for your souls.  For My yoke is easy (to bear) and My burden is light.  ~Matthew 11:28-30

When life seems hopeless, mundane, or overwhelming, instead of turning to what is temporary (food, shopping, drinking, videos, games, . . .), turn to the One who's love for you is so great He sent His son to die for you.  God is always there, any time of the day or night and anywhere to hear your prayer.  Open the Bible, His letter to us; in it you will find hope and peace.  Turn to the family of believers, be there for each other.  Sometimes just turning away from our own troubles to be a help to someone else, gives us the different perspective we need.  Be available to help, listen, or do whatever is needed.  Smile, say hello, be ready, you never know when you might be the help someone is desperately looking for today.

“Someday you will read or hear that Billy Graham is dead. Don’t you believe a word of it. I shall be more alive than I am now. I will just have changed my address. I will have gone into the presence of God.” -Rev. Billy Graham

Many prayers for Texas!

Many prayers are going out for Texans involved in the flooding and aftermath of Hurricane Harvey.  One of the most amazing live press releases I watched today . . . the police chief of Houston, emotionally reporting on the recovery mission and death of a well-loved fellow officer who got caught in the flooding on his way to report to work.  What a tragedy to have to report, but at the same time, he gave the news with great hope, right there on live tv (thank you Jesus for live tv during these times).  The officer was a believer in Jesus Christ as his Savior, which is of great comfort to his wife and all those who knew him.   The police chief asked this man's now-widow, (my paraphrase) "if this was his day to go, wouldn't he have wanted to go while doing service to his community instead of any other way?", and her answer was "yes."  We can have comfort in the knowledge that those who are believers in Jesus as their only Savior, will be in immediate Paradise.  As sad as we are to lose them from our presence here, we know they are now spending eternity with our Lord Jesus and we can do the same!  Praise the Lord!  Don't wait until it's too late.

Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord. ~2 Cor. 5:8

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.  ~Romans 6:23

Booth move!

Another move!  Stop in at Crazy Frank's Indoor Flea Market (full of vintage and antique treasures) and visit my newly moved and re-designed booth!  Still #113, I've moved to the large room on the right (as you walk in, turn right, enter the large room, go straight ahead until you come to the back wall, turn right, I'm just a little ways on your left).  The new move allows me to be a little more creative with my booth design and I'm loving it so far!

Coming soon:  more mason jars (coming this week), more vintage-inspired bags (coming next month), and more!  Check it out, lots of vintage, antique, and vintage-inspired treasures for your home!  Don't forget to pick up a new dishcloth (vintage-inspired colors to choose from)!

My flea market spot in Crazy Frank's Indoor Flea Market was stocked last week.  Newly added: books, Frankoma Easter Plate!, heart washcloths and . . .

. . . new dishcloths!  I've decided to focus on vintage colors in my dishcloths to coordinate with your vintage-decorated kitchen, or simply to give you a smile when you see the vintage colors (and they trigger a memory of that old "harvest gold" or "avocado green" refrigerator you had when you were a kid)!  The dishcloths are in vintage-inspired colors from the "Vintage 50s", "Retro 60s" or "Retro 70s".  Also still available are dish towels: Vintage-inspired "Pig Meal" feed sack and "Chicken's Beware" . . . and much more!
